Acts 10:1-2 King James Version (KJV)
10 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

Acts 10:1-2 New King James Version (NKJV)
Cornelius Sends a Delegation

10 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, 2 a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

1 This was a Roman solider who had power he was under the orders of men who were under Cesar. We as Christians are under God’s authority.

2 Cornelius was loyal to Rome but more so to God, he would have been better for Rome because of his values as a Christian. We are better at whatever we do if we are under the Lord and live for His values. Cornelius and his family did what they could for they church they gave money and prayed, to many of us do what gets us by instead of being like him and doing all we can.
