I challenge you to learn, to grow, and to advance in the Name of Jesus!
Can I address the subject of truth for a moment? God is the essence and persona of truth, Christ was truth embodied.

Truth is sometimes portrayed on a scale of degrees by some people, they give some truth shades of gray, some truth can even be presented as half-truth and some say that truth doesn’t need to be hard giving it another aspect. Yes truth can be given in various ways, but the truth I hold to is total, without flaw, sometimes gentle and sometimes abrasive.

Many hold to the truths of subjectivity or in other words; the manufacturing of their own truth produced through succumbing to their own emotions or strong feelings about something or someone. Some make true truth subliminal and consequently making it inadequate to forge a transformation in their lives. One can only have a perspective from the foundation which they’ve built in their lives. If that foundation is built upon the shifting subjective truths of this world, in the end that life will have been lived in vain. However; if that foundation is built upon unshakable objective truth, that life will have been a life which lives in bliss through eternity.

But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 2nd Corinthians 4:2

Some manipulate truth to meet their own ends, they angle the truth in such a way it becomes deceit because it is mishandling it according to the context of the intent and thereby being crafty in its presentation.

I thank God for truth that is defining, truth that is dependable, and truth that is defensible. God’s truth is seen by the manifestation its transforming power to change the heart and set on course the path of righteousness all those who receive it. It is truth which manifests the fruit of the Spirit; hence the love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance that infills and disperses itself in and through the life of the receiver, the repentant believer.

Hugo Grotius a Dutchman who argued against Calvinism and advocated for Arminian theology said of truth;

"Truth preserves a man from those lax views of morals, of duty, and of religion, which leave him exposed to every assault. It makes the soul sincere, firm, constant, and always on its guard. A man who has no consistent views of truth, is just the man for the adversary successfully to assail”.

Paul the Apostle illustrated truth as a belt as part of the armor of God that secures us. History teaches us that the belt was a part of the armor which held the other body armor in place and when the belt was fastened it meant the soldier was on duty ready for warfare.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Ephesians 6:14

Christians are faced with an enemy every day the father of lies confronts us with half-truths and distortions designed to undermine our faith. We need the weaponry to stand having securely fastened truth around us, a truth that has the force and power of the sword of the Spirit, and the reinforcing protection of God’s breastplate of righteousness. Truth will always bring freedom. Freedom gives us power to move in God, to objectively examine ourselves, and to engage others without fear.

30 As He spoke these words, many believed in Him.
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:30-32

Truth is liberating; this is why truth is such a feared dynamic power in a world which is based upon delusion. Truth will always bring clarity once it is understood; lies will always bring confusion and ultimately strong delusion. Brethren walk in the truth and the light will shine brighter and brighter as we approach the end of our days! Selah

Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
D.R. Ritchie (Christian)
