GOT GIANTS?

Many times in life we face a giant which seems to mock God and threatens the sanctity of our spiritual lives. The works of the flesh is quite extensive and is a place of which we are familiar from our previous life in the flesh. I want to stir up your pure minds in reminding you that a Christian walks in the Spirit and occasionally may fall into sin; a sinner walks in sin as a lifestyle because they have not been redeemed from sin through the blood of Jesus and are not empowered to overcome sin in their lives.

However we have an adversary which is crafty and cunning when it comes to luring Christians into an old sin of preference. Once a Christian falls into a sin; but does not immediately repent whole heartedly; it is easy for that sin to get a foothold in their lives. Then the enemy of their soul begins a campaign to install a strongman in the midst of the stronghold to secure his place and enforce the repetition of that sin in the Christian’s life. The strongman’s position allows him to embellish the situation through misguiding the victim into believing they are hopeless and helpless in ever overcoming this sin in the lives. The strongman is convincing in his persuasive influence over the victim. But it is all a lie which can be broken through the power of the blood of Jesus and a strong desire to be set free. Deliverance ministry is the key in this situation and therefore must be sought with repentance and a willingness to turn the battle to the strongman taking authority over him.

God has given us the power of his Spirit to defeat the giants which come our way. We must resolve in our minds to never allow them to intimidate us or manipulate us into sinning before the Lord. The bible teaches us that we do not possess the spirit of fear, we are more than conquers, and that greater is he that is within us than he that is in the world. It is revealed that the excellency of the power within us is of God and not ourselves.

(7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
(8) We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
(9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 KJV

Many today follow a pseudo-gospel of easy believe-ism that does not produce the kind of tenacity of faith which empowers them during trying situations hence; they are unable to defeat the giants which overpower and encamp themselves with strongholds in those weak vessels who are powerless to defeat them because of their flippant approach to faith. Words that are not enforced with a lifestyle of genuine faith are powerless in dire circumstances and in the heat of a spiritual battle designed for the destruction of one’s testimony and impact upon others. One who never faces the giants with a fortified faith is never more than a conquer; an empty faith produces a powerless fight doomed to defeat.

Brethren, let us strive to be filled with the Spirit of Faith by walking in the word of faith; the genuine Gospel of Jesus Christ which empowers us through praying for understanding, following the instruction of the word, yielding to correction, relying upon the Father, and being led by the Spirit. God’s word has all we need to live a life of godliness which fortifies us through enduring the trials, tribulations, persecutions, and temptations of this world as we sojourn to the city foursquare. May God give you the wisdom to walk worthy before him in word and deed. Selah….

Shalom, Agape, & Amen,
D.R. Ritchie (Emissary)
