FAITH IN AFFLICTION

Our God is a God of Mercy and that mercy is meted out and measured for every new day. My Brethren God has not forsaken you, he is there with you and in due season you shall understand the reasons for the pain, for the affliction, and for the conflict you may be enduring. God is steadfast and truth; don’t allow the tribulations of life to harden you, but to the contrary let them make you more pliable. Let those time turn your reluctance into resilience to serve God greater. There is mercy and grace to help in times of need.

19 Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
20 My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:19-26 (KJV)

Please my brethren; remember his compassions never fail; he is faithful, steadfast, and true. He is a God whose love is without end, he loves his children and understands what we go through, he became a man and lived among us for about thirty three and a half years. He suffered affliction, conflict, persecution, and the agony of betrayal; he was tempted in all points yet without sin. He came to model a life filled with the Holy Spirit. There is no God like unto our God, for there is none other God but our God.

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; Philippians 3:10 (KJV)

O that we should know him intimately through the fellowship of his sufferings that we may also know the power of his resurrection, crucified with him and living by faith in him. Brethren let us then express him whether in times of gladness or times of pain. Let us conform ourselves to his likeness, let us become his life extended.

4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Philippians 4:4-9 (KJV)

Even in affliction we can find joy unspeakable filled with glory from the Lord. God bids his children to meditate and speak things which are pleasing in his sight. In obedience is great virtue. For in obedience we pick up our cross to follow Christ. For a Cross-less Christianity is a Christ-less Christianity; the preaching of the cross is the crux of Christian Theology. The Messiah bids us to follow him wherever he may lead us; even through the valleys of despair; even through the plains of pain; even through troubling waters of conflict; of which all lead to a mountain of triumph in the Lord. We can have faith which keeps us through every trial because of our love for the Lord and his steadfast love, mercy, and grace for his children. Brethren; keep the faith today and the faith with keep you. Selah

Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
D.R. Ritchie (Servant)
