1 IS JUDGING SCRIPTURAL? By Ray Ritchie on Fri Jun 24, 2016 10:17 am

Judge and be not judged is one of the most misused scriptures in the bible, because so many use it to justify their sins. Jesus also said a tree is known by the fruit it bears.

Now let’s reason together for just a moment, what do I have to do to know a tree by the fruit it bears? For one thing I have to have scrutinized the tree: to examine closely and minutely. How do I conclude: to reach as a logically necessary end by reasoning. So in order to reason out the conclusion of the fruit of a tree; I must judge: form an opinion about something through careful weighing of evidence and testing of premises.

How do we conclude what is sinful or not sinful; answer the use of judgment. What sets the perimeters of our judgment; answer the word of God. How do we express what is sin or not, answer; we give it a name.

(19) Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
(20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
(21) Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21 KJV

(28) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
(29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
(30) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
(31) Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
(32) Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Romans 1:28-32 KJV

If you cannot call sin by its name, and the offender by their actions, you may stand in the judgment of God with them. You see the bible plainly calls sin and sinners by name. If you commit adultery you are an adulterer, if you commit fornication you are a fornicator, if you have sex with the same sex, you are an abomination, if you steal you are a thief, if you lie you are a liar, etc. etc. This is what the bible teaches, so don’t give in to the pressure to compromise when it comes to calling sin and the sinner by their proper names. No one comes to Jesus because he agrees with their sins; they can only come to Jesus if they repent of their sins. We must warn the sinner of their sins, by calling sin a sin and identifying a sinner as a sinner, this is true love for those whom are lost. Jesus does not know you or hear you if you deny him or his word before the world.

(19) Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.
(20) And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
(21) And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. Luke 8:19-21 KJV

Don’t let some slick talking half-hearted so-called Christian pressure you into compromising the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ who will judge the quick and the dead at the great throne Judgment. He gave us permission to make a judgment call on the fruit of those around us, but not to be hypocrites which is the meaning of our opening verse. Only God has the final judgment. Selah!

Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
D.R. Ritchie (Servant)
