RESTORATION FIRST!

(1) Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
(2) Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:1-2 KJV

You know I examine myself everyday, and I find flaws and contradictions to what I believe. The thing about that is this, everyone has flaws and contradictions that oppose their convictions. I am so glad I have the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me into all truth. Truth has the ability to transform, but we must yield to it. The bible is a firm foundation which instills its strong convictions into our hearts once we are born again. The truth of those convictions help us to maintain a life worth living. Biblical conviction is used as our spiritually renewed conscious to help us find the path of righteousness when we sway off of it.

We all need the prayer support of each other, but often we resort to killing our casualties through dismissing them before we try to help them to restoration.

Katartizō the word for restore means “ to repair “ it denotes to “ thoroughly complete” and to “ make perfect “.

Too many times we are ready to excommunicate an individual before we try to help them back to full restoration. When someone is overtaken in a sin, there is still hope for their restoration, when must look at their trespass with an attitude of superiority just because we may not have that same problem. An attitude of humility marked by meekness is the attitude or spirit in which we approach someone in this situation. Unforgiveness is just as much of a sin as any other fault. I know the proper procedures for banning a person from a body of believers and these must be exercised before that verdict is applied.

Once we appeal to that person’s convictions offering biblical counsel coupled with prayers, and invest the time to restore that person and the person persists to continue in blatant sin; then we have done all we are required to do. We are not accountable to God because we have been accountable to that person’s restoration. In many churches once one has committed a blatant sin many turn their back on them in a sanctimonious false religious pride. God warns us that those who do this are opening themselves up to be overtaken as well.

Peirazō the word for tempted in the above passage means “to test” it denotes being scrutinized, enticed,
Or disciplined. It is also translated examine, and prove.

Brethren, let us keep the faith today by exercising compassion when it is needed, and discipline when it is needed as well. We must also be diligent to point out heresy and apostasy because we are in the last days. May God bless you to be a restorer of the breach in the restoration of a struggling soul, and may he bless you with success in your own ability to overcome by the Spirit of the living God. Selah!

Brotha Ray...
